Conversations on a Bench – 24 Hours of Stories, Questions, and Community

Get the coffee ready… because on World Homeless Day, Pathway Ministries’ Executive Director, Jon Rocke, will spend 24 consecutive hours sitting on a bench outside Pathway.

Beginning at 2pm on October 9th and continuing to 2p on October 10th, Jon will be joining executive directors from rescue missions across the country to raise awareness and shed light on the urgent need for a whole person approach to recovery and restoration.

Throughout the 24 hours, Jon will welcome a variety of voices including experts, the men and women of Pathway, staff and anyone who wants to stop by and join the conversation.

Come to 601 SW Adams St, Peoria, IL anytime during the 24 hours. The bench will serve as a symbol of listening, presence, and shared humanity, reminding all who gather that the challenge of homelessness cannot be solved in isolation.

The conversations will focus on the importance of addressing physical, mental, and spiritual needs together, the power of collaboration between organizations, and the role of community support in breaking cycles of poverty.

This event will raise awareness, strengthen partnerships, and invite the community into a vision where broken lives are restored, renewed, and repurposed through collective action and hope.

There is time set aside during this 24 event for anyone from the public to come by and ask questions or share a story. Open hours are:

• Thursday, October 9 from 5-6PM
• Friday, October 10 from 7-8 AM
• Friday, October 10 from 12-1 PM
