At Empower Life Center (a ministry of Pathway Ministries) staff and volunteers interact everyday with women and young families facing challenges. Sometimes these challenges are material needs like diapers and formula. Other times, it’s a young woman who needs support to choose life for her unborn child. Here are three ways Empower Life Center (ELC) helps moms and young families flourish.
Material Support
Did you know a baby will go through about 5,000 diapers before they’re potty trained? That same baby will also consume over 7,000 ounces of formula or milk before they turn one year old. And as every parent who has tried to buy clothes for their baby knows, infant clothes that fit perfectly yesterday are suddenly too small today.
Thanks to donations, ELC is able to help meet immediate materials needs for families who need help.
Options Counseling
When a young women finds out she’s pregnant, she has a lot of a questions. “How far along am I?” “Can I keep the baby or should I consider adoption?” “Who will support me if I choose life?” “Should I terminate?”
By providing free ultrasounds by a registered nurse, a new mom can see her baby for the first time. Often, what was considered “a problem” just a few minutes earlier is now a miracle. But circumstances can still seem overwhelming. That’s why every ultrasound is scheduled for hour. A new mom has time to ask questions. She will be connected with local doctors for delivery and provided with resources for birth and parenting classes.

Every woman is encouraged is to make the choice for life, and for women who are considering abortion, they are shown that other options are available.
Ongoing Support
After delivery, families are able to receive material support as well ongoing classes about parenting. For women who have chosen abortion in the past, they are invited to “Surrendering the Secret,” a Bible study where women are able invited to release the burden and find freedom through honest interactions and meaningful group experiences.
